Final project
This project I got to test values with watercolor paint. I played around with different direction in the flowers and the bottom of the uterus to add more definition.
Social Issues
This project really tested my skills on adding definition with paint. Paint is not a strong suit of mine, but i feel I was able to control the viewpoints of the land and water. Direction and movement, and gradations helped me a lot with that.
Culture project
This project was a lot of fun. I learned a lot of new techniques and history within it. I learned how to work with clay and create texture, forms, and keeping balance. I also had to learn a new color scheme and how to give my project a rustic older look.
Screen Printing
I didn’t take pictures of the failed sketches, but these were the final prints. This project made me go back and forth between sizing of lines, proportions, and values while trying to make sure the space wasn’t effected in the final print.
Final Project
This project challenged my skill with realism. It was a lot of work to get all values in the hair creating direction and movement on the back of the head. Creating the face details I had to do a lot of working with proportions and creating highlights and lowlights
Digital Art
This project was fun to play around with and learn to do. It was interesting messing around with different varieties with shapes and adding the gradation with the sun in the background. I would say this was definitely a challenge though. I feel like I greatly improved from the practice until now, by just testing and playing around with a lot of things.
Fauvism
This project was fun to play around with values of the red and blue to represent “hot and cold”. It was a little difficult making it realistic from my inspiration picture, but got to challenge myself. It was also fun adding texture to the hair using different materials.
Georgia O'keeffe
This assignment was very fun to mess with the charcoals, while also challenging myself with more of a difficult image. I definitely struggled with direction, values, proportions and many more. It was great to challenge my problem solving skills during this project.
Sketchbook
For this project I attempted a new way to place the pages in the spine. It was fun figuring out what would work and how to do it, it allowed me to learn something new. I did have a lot of fun playing with textures with the salt on my endpages.
